Brands Take the NYC Subway

New Yorkers and visitors may have (literally) caught this holiday marketing stunt by American Airlines, which made over a NYC subway "S" train in its distinctive livery.
The city's Metropolitan Transit Authority's short-run S train, a three-car shuttle service between two 42nd Street stations (Grand Central and Times Square), is a favorite takeover target by marketers.
"The History Channel and Google both wrapped the Times Square shuttle in 2008 when the MTA began to allow a full wrap of trains," notes NYC The Blog, which points out the first full-length NYC subway train wrap was Target's reskinning of a multi-car train on the 6 line last summer:
